Work Placement - NSW Department of Education, Catholic Education Commission, Association of Independent Schools (WPSP)

As the sole Work Placement Service Provider (WPSP) for Western NSW, Western Student Connections provides work placement coordination services for all schools and TAFE campuses in Work Placement Service Provider Regions J and K - see Region J map, see Region K map.
We commenced business in October 2002 as Macquarie Darling Work Placement Incorporated and now trade as Western Student Connections.
In our role of Western NSW WPSP, we coordinate mandatory work placements for school students enrolled in NSW Higher School Certificate VET Industry Curriculum Framework courses at school and/or TAFE - See a list of our schools and TAFE Campuses.
Western Student Connections Work Placement Coordinators work closely with NSW Department of Education, Catholic Education Commission and Independent schools, TAFE NSW Western and New England Institutes Campuses, and local employers, to ensure a quality work placement for each student, that meets NSW Board of Studies requirements.

Indigenous Employment Program for School Based Apprentices and Trainees - Australian Government Jobs, Land and Economy (IEPSBATS)

Western Student Connections, in a consortium with Access Group Training, is a provider in the Western NSW region for the coordination of School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships for Aboriginal school students.
The IEPSBATS program provides a pathway opportunity for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander secondary students, through the facilitation of School Based Traineeships, and providing Structured Mentoring while the students are at school, and following their completion of Year 12 and transition from school to employment or further education.

Western Student Connections is a Links to Learning provider for the Castlereagh, North West and Far West Links to Learning projects.
The Links to Learning Program is funded by the NSW Government and administered by the NSW Department of Education.

Western Student Connections provides individualised workshops, resources and sessions for students in the Links to Learning projects.

Work Readiness: Preparing Students for Workplace Learning
Completing Work Readiness: Preparing Students for Workplace Learning will contribute 6 hours of QTC Registered PD addressing 1.3.2, 2.3.2, 3.5.2, 5.1.2, 5.5.2, 6.2.2, 7.2.2, 7.3.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW

Western Student Connections is an Institute of Teachers endorsed provider of Institute Registered professional development for the maintenance of accreditation at Proficient Teacher/Professional Competence.
